Prof. David Karoly. Climate change and its impacts: What you need to know!

This promises to be an outstanding event with a truly world-class speaker. Prof. David Karoly is an internationally recognised expert on climate change and climate variability. From 2018 to June 2021, he was Leader of the Earth Systems and Climate Change Hub in the Australian Government’s National Environmental Science Program, based in CSIRO,
During 2012-2017, he was a member of the Climate Change Authority, which provides advice to the Australian government on responding to climate change, including targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He was involved in the Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2001, 2007, 2014 and 2021 in several different roles.

This event, the first in our Eminent Speaker Series, is likely to be very popular. Bookings will initially be limited to Bayside U3A members and their guests, but after the first weeks of bookings we will be publicising the event to other U3A groups, local service clubs etc. So please make your free booking early to make sure that you have a seat.
